Monastery in the Alps
Ski Snow Cabin in Iceland
Three primitive volumes blend to the rugged terrain. Standing defiant against the elements with smooth lines echoing the surrounding volcanic mountains.
In this remote expanse, the cabin embodies resilience, providing a warm retreat and practical facility for the skiing community and enthusiasts visiting the slopes near Krafla Caldera.
The structure of the building is made of a double raw unpolished concrete skin with local subsoil to evoque snowflake accumulation.
MUTATION
On the west shore of lake Maggiore a single plan designed to suit a large scale House independent of it’s elevations. The layout as the naked body forms the basis of an Architectural exercise to define the identity of the House. The skin’s house express a process akin to gene mutation.
